چکیده
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the hypodontic (agenesis) and supernumerary tooth formation observed in Byzantine community Beybağ, Muğla. Material Method: During Beybağ excavations, 161 graves which were unearthed 2008 dated Period. 97 (mandible and/or maxilla) jaw bones obtained from 171 individuals constitute our material. It determined that these belonged 39 male, 26 female 32 infant-child. For purpose, those examined estimated be radiographically visualized with Kavo 3D exam dental tomography device. In addition, presence teeth by macroscopic observation. Results: Following examination materials, hypodontia five samples one individual determined. According findings, incidence found 1.03% frequency agenesis 7.21%. However, only case a maxilla (upper jaw). Conclusion: results we both yielded similar recent studies previous studies. We think study, is rare examples, will contribute other research field.

Non-syndromic concomitant hypodontia and supernumerary teeth in an orthodontic population.
The simultaneous occurrence of hypodontia and supernumerary teeth in the same individual is termed 'concomitant hypo-hyperodontia' (CHH). There appears to be a correlation between CHH and some syndromes, but this anomaly is very rare in the general population. The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency of CHH in a large sample of non-syndromic orthodontic patients. The records of 21...
متن کاملSevere hypodontia: identifying patterns of human tooth agenesis.
Tooth agenesis is the most common dental anomaly. The aim of this retrospective study was to identify common patterns of tooth agenesis in a sample of 92 patients (55 females and 37 males; mean age 27.7 years) with non-syndromic severe hypodontia. The Tooth Agenesis Code (TAC) procedure was used for that purpose. The patients in this study were missing between 6 and 22 permanent teeth (mean 11....

OBJECTIVE To assess the prevalence of lateral incisor agenesis impacted canines and supernumerary teeth in a young adult male population. MATERIALS AND METHODS The panoramic radiographs of 1745 military students (mean age: 18.6 ± 0.52 years) who attended the Center of Aviation Medicine of the Armed Forces of Greece during the period 1997-2011 were initially analyzed for lateral incisor agenes...
متن کاملDNA methylation is critical for tooth agenesis: implications for sporadic non-syndromic anodontia and hypodontia
Hypodontia is caused by interactions among genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors during tooth development, but the actual mechanism is unknown. DNA methylation now appears to play a significant role in abnormal developments, flawed phenotypes, and acquired diseases. Methylated DNA immunoprecipitation (MeDIP) has been developed as a new method of scanning large-scale DNA-methylation pro...
متن کاملTeeth number anomalies in permanent dentition among non-syndromic dental patients.
The aim of this study was to establish teeth number anomalies in relation to gender, tooth type, location, distribution pattern and the association between frequently missing teeth among a group of dental patients in Turkey. A total of 378 non-syndromic patients (240 females and 138 males) with an age range of 7-45 (x +/- SD = 22.07 +/- 3.6) having evidence of absent or excess teeth were evalua...
